Summary:
Elder
Brier outwardly comes off as the rebellious type. He has
his own sense of style and follows his own set of rules,
refusing to change for anyone. He won’t even comb
his hair to look presentable for the men of The Order!
But this provocative streak masks his true desires –
he desperately needs someone to take control and drill
a sense of discipline into his chaotic life. Maybe he
can find the structure that he has been searching for
on his mission, but he won’t give up his sense of
individuality that easily. It’ll take hard corporal
punishment from the stern priests to make this boy bend.
And secretly, he can't wait.
Scene
1: In the Missionary Bathroom
Elder
Brier is relatively new to his mission, and he is still
learning the ropes. But as he has spent more and more
time underthe guidance and care of the men of the Order,
President Lewis has repeatedly made himself an approachable
figure to the young boy. That is why Brier is so surprised
when he finally shares his first private meeting with
the boy. Instead of the kind, welcoming Lewis he has become
accustomed to, he finds a hard, stern man who seems highly
concerned with Brier’s state of purity.
Lewis
asks over and over whether the boy understands the Law
of Chastity, its significance, and what it entails. And
while Brier knows that these questions must be coming
from a place of suspicion, he has no idea what to do but
lie. Yes, he has kept himself pure. But as these fraudulent
words leave his lips, Lewis senses the deceit immediately.
In fact, before Brier even opens his mouth, he knows the
boy will lie – and it is precisely because of how
open the two have been with each other previous to this
Interview.
Scene
2: The Calling
Some
may consider Elder Brier a rebel without a cause –
but President Oaks sees right through his facade. There
is somethingdeeper stirring in the young boy, something
that creates the need to act out and make sure he is noticed
as an individual. It is not a simple case of narcissism.
In fact, President Oaks can tell that Brier does not really
enjoy being the center of attention. It is just something
he has had to come to terms with because of how handsome
he has always been; attention is something he cannot avoid.
But regardless of what makes Brier act so rebelliously,
Oaks is determined to tease it out of his psyche before
letting him join the ranks of The Order.
Today,
Brier has been called into Oaks’s office for The
Calling. As he probes the boy to get a sense of his mental
state, Oaks wears a firm, even aggressive affect. Brier
is surprised, as Oaks is generally known to be a man of
calm collection, even detachment. Seeing the gorgeous
priest in such a fierce state makes Brier’s loins
quiver in anticipation.
Scene
3: Blind Faith
Known
for his rebellious behavior and appearance, Elder Brier
has quickly become one of the most sought-after boys in
themission. The brethren rarely find themselves talking
so much about any one particular missionary, but somehow
Brier’s attitude has stirred an unprecedented amount
of conversation about him. Maybe it is because each of
the men of The Order wants to be the one to break the
boy, to make him bend to their will and give up his subversive
act. Either way, the priesthood has had an eager eye set
on Brier, and today the boy is set to face one of the
most challenging tasks in his steps towards The Order.
He
is shown into a dark room with a red blindfold and instructed
to kneel. He is in the care of President Lee, who has
been a constant source of fantasy for the boy since the
first time he set eyes on the man’s rippling muscles.
When he was young, Brier had an action figure who he would
secretly dream of having sex with.
